We left the hotel early this morning and grabbed a taxi for the train station. Suzhou is famous for its old architecture, picturesque network of canals and plentiful alleyways - the perfect stop on our photographic journey around China. After we checked in at yet another Home Inn (best hotel in China period) we grabbed our gear and got right to it. During the day we explored the city, slowly making our way from the hotel towards Shantang Avenue, the "old quarters" in Suzhou. There is definitely a whole different feel to this city than anything I have experienced before. I can imagine it being similar to Venice, but Chinese style instead. We strolled around not only the main avenue but also the maze of alleyways just outside the tourist area where the natives live. So much eye candy, so many good pictures!
