TITLE: SAUNA WITH GRISHA (LIAOYANG)
LOCATION: WANHAO BATHHOUSE (万豪圣会)
MISSION: SEE WHAT LIAOYANG HAS TO OFFER
DATE: 2012-01-15

I have been kind of curious to see how the best bathhouses in Shoushan compare to Liaoyang's acme of public bathing. To find out me and Wu Yang (吴洋) met up with Grisha/Gregory at the shopping street (Jingdu, 京都). After some casual window shopping and a Korean-style lunch we went to Wanhao. Leaving Jingdu we passed by this snack-shack, 香掉牙, which translates to "so-tasty-your-teeth-will-come-out". Another one of those funny Chinese names that are really funny but just do not translate well into English. Anyway, Wanhao is Liaoyang's finest recreational personal hygiene establishment according to Greg's colleague Mr. Lin (林森). Built like a massive Greek temple it sure looked that way from the outside, and the inside did not disappoint as well. Several notches higher on the luxury scale compared to Xinsheng (馨圣) in Shoushan (they even had a huge jacuzzi!), but the scrubbing left something to be desired. If your goal is to spoil yourself, this is the place to come, but if you are looking to just shed layer of skin, then Xinsheng would be your best pick. I don't know which side Greg woke up on today, but he decided to do a "One Day in Liaoyang"-video, filming everything we did and everywhere we went. Aimed mainly for his Russian-speaking audience back home in the Ukraine, but me and Wu got some Swedish and Chinese in there as well, should the video make it over here someday.
