Today it was time to eat some meat in order to meat my monthly 锅包肉-quota (the nice sweet 'n sour pork dish). I tried to treat my colleagues to dinner at 小河鱼 (Little River Fish), but they insisted that it was hugely overrated and instead took me to a place called 好运来 (Good Fortune). Wu Yang (吴洋) the sneaky little bastard knows that there won't be any hard liquor when it is my treat, so he brought a bottle of his own. And not just any bottle, a bottle he got for free when signing up for a club card at a supermarket (贺尊). Not only was it strong (52%) but it tasted foul as well, stinging your taste buds like if you were drinking juice made from chili. I managed three sips and then I switched to beer instead. Kang Wei (康伟) got me Dabang, the cheapest beer you can find in Liaoyang. Made in Dalian to the south and is considered strong (3.3%). No Tsingdao, but way better than what was in Wu's bottle. The meat was not as good as at 小河鱼 (I don't care what they say, it is awesome), but it was really nice too. A great evening with friends and the liquor (泸州珍品) even made Sun Guiwen (孙桂文, the sales department manager) loosen up enough for a little smile for the camera.
