Due to my status as unemployed I was given responsibility for tonight's dinner, and the family demanded Chinese food. At 15:00 I headed to the supermarket to get all the ingredients, then I proceeded to spend three hours in the kitchen preparing four dishes (水煮肉, 木须肉, 地三鲜, 青椒肉丝). They were well received so I guess I did alright at least. After cake and presents I collapsed on the sofa exhausted. I think it was around nine o'clock. Who would have thought cooking was such hard work. Good thing I only have four sisters and they only have one birthday each.
