Breaking camp did not take very long and with breakfast taken care of I set out on the trail again. Just to be hit by the green wall and another 5 km through the shaded valley still wet from yesterday evening. Good thing I was well rested, because it was something close to a trial and when the treeline finally appeared before me it was such a relief. Having pretty much run through the valley I rewarded myself with a break to dry out the equipment. I later heard from other hikers that the old trail took you from Ammarnäs to the cabin but through the valley (17 km) instead of on the mountain ridge, something that sounds mighty unpleasant. Trekking over the mountain was lovely and coming down back to lower ground the wind picked up walking along ridge below the mountain wall of Láddiebákttie keeping the bugs away. Not much rain fell and I made it to the Sjnjultje cabin (pronunciation?) by 18:30 where I had dinner. In the cabin I met Josephine from Switzerland who planned to stay the night there, but the temperature and lack of ventilation made it close to unbearable for two to stay there, so I moved on. Instead, I made my way towards the mountain further on where the trail turns east after passing a river. I found no river but only two tiny brooks, so I thought I had not arrived yet and pressed on, ending up overshooting considerably. Having passed through a march with absolutely no trail I found another brook where I filled up on water with the aim to make camp at whatever suitable spot I could find. With no bugs and a bit more practice I pitched in just 15 minutes ending ad 23:00. 33 km, 55594 steps, 13h.
