Every year Bombardier throws two parties, one in the summer and one at Christmas. There has been a lot of talk about this party, and I have been looking forward to this all summer. The day started off great with the department celebrating the boss' birthday with three massive sandwich layer cakes. We had tons of cake, both for breakfast and lunch, and still didn't manage go finish it all. Then early in the afternoon the whole department went downtown for a couple of pre-afterwork beers before heading over to the arena for the real deal. Over a thousand people attended (1050, actually) which apparently is a record. We were treated to free beer and wine along with a very classy buffet and live performances. After dinner there were live music and dancing for those thus inclined and darts, basketball hoops and air hockey for the rest of us. Unfortunately I missed the after-party at Skybar (I didn't know that where would be one). I will definitely not make the same mistake next time.
