Dad caught a nasty cold and has stayed at home this whole week. Having little to occupy him he solved a bunch of "Mystery Caches" that he ached to try and find now that he is better. It wasn't raining (much) today anyway so I tagged along. The first few were real easy to find, practically "drive-bys". The last one was rated as 1.5/5 for difficulty and 3.5/5 for terrain and was hidden far our in the forest. After hiking our way there (soaking our shoes and feet on the way) we came to strongly disagree with the rated difficulty level. After having scoured the area for more than 30 minutes and the sun was about to set we were ready to give up and go home. There must have been at least a thousand "good spots" to hide a plastic film container and the cache's creator had not even provided a hint. Just as I was about to start the walk back to civilization dad found it hidden deep among the roots of a tree. 1.5 of 5? More like 4.5 if you ask me. If this guy ever makes a cache rated 5/5 I can tell you now that I won't go look for it.
