Looking at some old pictures I stumbled upon the pictures I took back in Lund the same day as I defended my thesis (11th June). Remembering that I thought these pictures to have potential to go black-and-white but failed along the way, I played around in Photoshop aging them a little instead. There must be something magical with sepia tones and scratches, because these turned out much, much better than the b/w ones. Always fun to play around when the results turn out alright. A friend who is into music once told me that he often "dirty up" the sampled sounds to make them less perfect, as perfection gives a feeling of clinical sterility to the music. Maybe the same theory can be applied to photography as well?
