TITLE: SHOPPING IN ANSHAN

It is still not very cold here in the northwest, far warmer than what is normal for this time of the year, but to avoid "cold-shock" I decided to go out early and get me a down jacket. My ever diligent companion Wu Yang (吴洋) took me clothes hunting at the Parkson Mall in the downtown shopping district of Silong (四隆). We opted for doing one mall thoroughly instead of running all over the place, as that would be mighty tiresome go through all of the 4-5 malls in the area. Seeing as how cold everyone expects the winter to be, it is somewhat surprising that the vast majority of the winter clothes are designed more for autumn temperatures than anything else. There were plenty of nice (and very expensive) stuff in this fancy six-storey mall, but I ended up buying a red duvet from Jack and Jones. It was cheap and actually the thickest of them all. Unfortunately I forgot to have Wu take my picture while trying it out, so you will have to wait a few days until I can get you one. We also looked at some other stuff as well, but found nothing worth buying. Exhusted after hours of shopping and walking, we went to the food court at the mall next door, Jingzi Avenue (景子街), for lunch. It was insanely big and packed with people! Once you managed to get somewhere to sit, you bought food from one of the small restaurants lining the square. We got fried-rice-in-egg-pancake-with-ketchup as well as an assortment of meat-on-sticks. It was greasy as hell, but it oh so delicious. We also got what could just be Liaoning Province's best Chinese-style milk pudding. No picture, sorry, but I will defenitely come back for more, I'll get you a picture then.
