Familiar with my follicular fortitude, the director of sales, Mr. Kou, recommended to me the small hair salon where he and his wife have been cutting hair and taming beards for the last ten years. Looking forward to my first professional shave, I let my beard grow a little extra long before going. The weather has been quite cold lately and it started raining just as I left the office, of course. A plain shave was 20元, but since this was a first, I decided to get the Ultra-Deluxe-100元 package. I know it might sound like much, but all-in-all it was over an hour of first class service. It included a thorough pre-shave face cleaning with several different "products", face massage and the compulsory hot towel. After the shave I was given a cleansing facial treatment and another round of massage. To top it all off, the barber lady rid my face of any offensive blackheads, dug my ears clean of wax and trimmed my nose hair. At first I was a little sceptical of having someone waving a razor around that close to my face, but she was really professional and I didn't get cut a single time! She was impressed of the denseness of my beard, and a little shocked to find that she had to switch to a new razor with one third of my beard still left. A fantastic way to spend 100元. Recommended to all guys who go to China. By the way, Kang Wei (康伟) came along as moral support and it was he who took the pictures.
