Since I am leaving Shoushan tomorrow and not coming back until after the Spring Festival, a dinner was of course a must. First stop was Xiaoliang Hair (晓亮) though, as it would not be acceptable to greet the new year without a proper haircut. With the few straggly straws on my head put back in line, I headed over to the dumpling restaurant were I met up with the other guys. Then I found out that my departure was not the only reason for throwing this dinner: Wu Yang (吴洋) had gotten his hands on a gallon of "the good stuff", apparently brewed by some restaurant. Wu smuggled it into the restaurant in various containers found in the office. When a liquor gets introduced as "52% that tastes like 38%" you know you there is going to be more than just one glass. Did we have too much? Yes. Yes, we did. Dangerous thing this, slightly sweet-tasting alcohol. No evening would be complete without some drunken slurring into microphones, which was taken care of through a visit to a KTV nearby. I think I managed to clogg one of the toilets by puking, making me vow to only drink liquor produced by well-known distilleries in the future. Also to always finish packing before going out drinking when leaving early the next day.
