TITLE: TASTE BUD HEAVEN
LOCATION: 小河鱼饭店 (LITTLE RIVER FISH RESTAURANT)
MISSION: FILL UP
DATE: 2011-11-03

More things to take care of after work today; a lot of things to take care of before going to Beijing on Saturday. I had to get a bus ticket to Shenyang (沈阳) for Saturday morning (06:00 - ouch) and a red gift envelope (红包) for the wedding, among other things. Last on the list was dropping of my shoes for cleaning at the place where I get my shirts washed. I'm getting lazy I know, but 5元 to get your shoes properly cleaned? Yes, please. One of the best restaurants in Shoushan is 小河鱼 (Xiao He Yu = Little River Fish), or at least that is what everyone say. My favourite dish is 锅包肉 (guo bao rou = lightly fried sweet and sour pork) and Wu Yang had told me before that one plate of the heavenly goodness was more than 80元 at Xiao He Yu, which is three times the price at a regular place. Three times as expensive means three times as good, right? I just had to try it myself. You know the place is posh when they have a display area instead of a menue and they place red adzuki beans in your rice. To put it simply: the meat was exquisite! Perfectly cooked, extremely tender and fried to succulent crispiness. And, it turned out that the pork was 32元/plate which is just 4元 more than at Heping (the shack where I usually eat). I wonder what they make their profit on, because it definitely is not 锅包肉. I'm coming back here.

"I have been politely informed that 锅包肉 at Heping is 24元 and not 28. 32元 is still cheap though."

"Det vattnas ju i munnen när man ser maten... :-)"

"Det har tagit dig TVÅ MÅNADER att komma till ett acceptabelt ställe. Dessutom är det billigare än lunchlådan jag hämtar varje dag ...."
