I am back at the Wanxingda headquarters today. I was going to meet people from all three companies that I am researching and discuss statistics and data, but they ALL cancelled on me, rescheduling for later this week. I guess I will just hang around here a few more days. Today at Heping I was SHOCKED to learn that the refrigerator that they use is not of the worst energy efficiency class! It is the first time in China that I have seen an air condition, fridge or other electrical equipment NOT rated 5/5 on the crappiness scale. A big golden star to Mrs. Liu. For lunch today I had garlic bolts (蒜苗, like the garlic stalks [蒜薹] but thinner) with egg. Nice, but it made me burp garlic all day, yuk. My literature review is due next friday and I just keep finding interesting material. So much to read, so little time. Today I didn't leave the office until 20:30 and I suspect that I have more long nights ahead of me. My room is on the fourth floor and it was quite spooky when I left: the entire building was empty except for me and the lights were turned off, pitch black with every sound echoing. Halfway down the stairs an engineer wokring late fetched something in the office on the first floor, the sudden racket he made made me jump I must admit, haha! I think need a flashlight.
