TITLE: DOWNTOWN SHOUSHAN
LOCATION: THE SMALL ROUNDABOUT (小转盘)
MISSION: WORK WORK WORK
DATE: 2011-10-08

China is an amazing country with amazing people. Believe it or not, Chinese people are so awesome that they only need one day off work each week! Unfortunately, this applies to me as well. I don't think I could ever get used to 48 hour weeks, at least not a six-day workweek. The worst part is that it is work tomorrow as well, since the Chinese had a whole week off for the National Day this weekend doesn't count! I think I'll just take the day off anyway. My first week here in Shoushan I invested heavily in a teacup (52元, I got ripped off apparently, even though I bought it at a supermarket), whose ear started to crack just two weeks later. Most annoying. Tonight me and Wu Yang went to the Small Roundabout (that isn't a roundabout anymore) for dinner. I got me a nice stone bowl of rice and mixed vegetables (石锅拌饭) while Wu ordered all kinds of weird stuff from the barbeque. How about some grilled tendons on a stick or perhaps thick pieces of grilled pig's skin? The grilled 馒头 (steamed bun) was actually quite good (the small white-ish ball on a stick). Wu Yang has been concerned about the effect of us eating out every night on his body weight, and thus was not up for a picture tonight. I think I'll just give him my dumbbells when I leave here, that way he doesn't have to worry any more!

"I am indeed one of those Chinese people who only need one day off work each week...Is this in our gene..?"

"Wu kanske skulle låna dina hantlar en stund innan ni åker och äter. Det skulle kanske hjälpa upp aptiten och öka kalorikonsumtionen."
