TITLE: AN INTRODUCTION
LOCATION: LIAOYANG COUNTY
MISSION: SHOW YOU MY PART OF THE WORLD
DATE: 2011-10-02

For all of you who are not intimately familiar with Chinese geography, here is a quick description of where I am. The city of Liaoyang is located just south of the provincial capitol of Liaoning Province (Shenyang), and just below Liaoyang City is Liaoyang County. As you can see in the picture, the half of the city where the Wanxingda Group has its head office and dormitory is on the less developed side of the railway. It is pretty much the stone age; nothing here factories, repari shops and the brick shanty-town where the workers live. Picture 3 and 4 were taken on the way to work and are typical of the area west of the railway. The other side, where I go to work, is not that bad actually, resembling Xi'an in many ways just on a somewhat smaller scale. The white car (a Mazda) is responsible for picking me up in the morning and taking me back in the afternoon. The drive takes about 10-15 minutes, so it is not far at all (a little over 6km). The last picture is also taken on the west side, but coming from the other direction, coming from work.
