TITLE: THE GOOD STUFF
LOCATION: 川江码头 (A SICHUAN RESTAURANT)
MISSION: ENJOY YET ANOTHER WELCOME DINNER
DATE: 2011-09-26

Today Honchang's director of equipment and maintenance (白国军 [Bai Guojun], second from the right) took me out for dinner. And booze of course. Bai's old friend Mr. Wu (the guy on the right) runs a Sichuan-style restaurant so we went there to try two of his specialties: 水煮鱼 (a fish dish, see the picture) and duck's head (the third picture)! Sichuan-style means spicy and you can see in the picture the amount of dried peppers that they scooped up from the bowl. Still, Mr. Wu estimated that it was only about one third of the hotness of genuine Sichuan 水煮鱼. As is customary in the Northeast, there was booze on the table. Since I am a foreigner they served up one bottle of ONLY 42% and another one of still ONLY 52% (everything under 60% is considered bland and uninteresting). A bottle is 500ml and is served in quarter, e.g. one glass is 125ml. I actually managed one and a half quarter and three bottles of beer (3.1%, nothing extrordinarilly strong), but then the world was spinning quite fiercly. It is a little unclear when and where I took the last two pictures, but apparently someone picked up us and drove us home. I slept really good tonight, I can tell you that!
