Today was shopping day. Yesterday we saw the southern area where the hip and young Chinese go to do their shopping. It proved to be too much for the sisters, so today we did the Muslim Quarter's tourist junk market and the East Avenue. Boy, did the money flow today! At the muslim market the big thing was scrafs and they brought a small pile of them. Then, at the avenue it was shoes. Between the four of them they bought 7 pairs. This was apparently more foreigner friendly shopping; Maria managed to make herself understood without my help at all. The meaning of "Too small", Too big", "This one", "That one", "Okay" is apparently universal among languages.
