Sam, like Monty, is also from New Mexico and this is his wife, Alice. They came here in order for Sam to learn Chinese and get their daughter in touch with her roots. We all went to our favourite restaurant for a nice dinner. Tomorrow they are going to Hainan (a tropical island in south China) for the winter break and won't be back for a while. I'm heading the opposite way to Tianjin, to the cold north and 许嘉 [Schydjaa].
