TITLE: DRAMA QUEENS
LOCATION: MY DORM (UNFORTUNATELY)
MISSION: GET SOME SLEEP
DATE: 2008-12-04

(South) Koreans are strange. There are 15 of them here, all of them 20-or-so-year-olds, but they sound and act more like 30-or-so 10-year-olds. They only stick to themselves, hanging out in their rooms. They always cook together, study together, party together... They spend way too much time with eachother, so of course there is going to be drama. The thing is, South Korean drama is the WORST (try watching a South Korean soap opera, I dare you). They are running up and down the corridors all night, screaming laughing, wrestling...you name it. They will arbitrarily date and just as arbitrarily break up. Birthdays are considered as important as national holidays and as soon as there is a birthday coming up they will put up cute signs, banners and other cutesy crap all over the place. Ick. They also like to scheme. Recently all the Korean guys were going to a club WITHOUT any of the girls (apparently unheard of) and they made sure we knew about it, reminding us every day (but not asking us to come) for a whole week in advance. They would even call us up or knock on our (me and the Americans') doors in the middle of the night to make sure we were still cool with the no-girls night out. Koreans... And also, their floor got a new washing machine and they instantly drew tons of smiley faces, hearts and Korean drabble on it. And they are short to, really short.
